What is SafetyVR
SafetyVR is a virtual reality training platform for high-risk jobs. Workers step onto a scaffold, into a crane cabin, onto a busy construction site or into a smoke-filled room, and practise the procedures that keep them alive. They can make mistakes and see what those mistakes lead to, all with no real risk. Every session is recorded, so trainers see who missed a hazard and why. SafetyVR is built by BidOn Studio, a Unity/VR studio working since 2012. It runs on standalone headsets or on hardware-integrated simulators from our partner Industrial Reality Systems.
Training modules
Working at Height
Inspect a harness, choose the right anchor point and work from scaffolds, ladders and aerial platforms. Trainees who skip a step experience a virtual fall, not a real one.
Ports & Cranes
Operate STS, RTG and mobile cranes in realistic terminal conditions: wind, night shifts, load sway and equipment faults. Training never takes a real crane out of service.
Construction Site
Walk a live virtual site full of hidden hazards: open edges, moving machinery, suspended loads and missing PPE. Spot them, report them and learn to move safely when several crews work in the same area.
Fire Safety
Choose the right extinguisher, read how the fire is behaving and evacuate safely through smoke. No fumes, no refills and no clean-up.
Why SafetyVR
Zero-risk practice
Rehearse emergencies that are impossible or illegal to stage for real.
Learn by doing
Hands-on scenarios build reflexes, not just theory slides.
Measurable results
Every action is logged for scoring, debriefs and compliance records.
Real controls, if you need them
Simulators with physical joysticks and panels, from Industrial Reality Systems.
Train anytime, anywhere
Portable headsets, no downtime for real equipment, any weather.
Built for your site
Custom scenarios that match your equipment, layouts and procedures.
In the US, falls, slips and trips caused 39.2% of all construction deaths in 2023 (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics). In a PwC study, VR learners trained up to 4x faster than in the classroom (PwC).
Pilot in 4–8 weeks
1 Discover
We review your risks, equipment and procedures and pick 1–2 priority scenarios.
2 Build & pilot
In 4–8 weeks we deliver a working pilot on headsets or a simulator with real controls, and run it with your crew.
3 Measure & scale
Together we look at the session data and trainer feedback, then roll out more modules and sites.
